Biopics of PM Narendra Modi to be released after polls, orders Election Commission
Recently, the Election Commission banned on the screening of biopics on political leaders before elections as they could alter the level playing field during elections. The producers of the biopic on Prime Minister Narendra Modi will not release the movie duringn polls.
The commission further decided to set up a committee headed by a retired Supreme Court judge to consider the complaints on this topic. The poll panel also stated that any film that is showcasing any political entity or individual will not be displayed in the electronic media including movie halls at the time of polls.
The biopic on PM Narendra Modi is the most discussed topic in this election season and the regular complaints from others as well have made the panel to take this decision.
The Lok Sabha elections will be held from April 11 to May 19 and the results will be declared on May 23. The film which was previously scheduled to be released on April 11 will now release post elections.
